The Chaos Ruined (Threads of Chaos - Book 2) by Aubrey Winters - Review #2

Title: The Chaos Ruined
Series: Threads of Chaos - Book 2
Author: Aubrey Winters
Genre: Fantasy
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In this Volume of the Threads of Chaos Series, you see more growth from Everly, not only in her maturity but also her abilities to raise the undead beasts. Selene offers Everly the guidance she needs and we see her almost soften as a character when it comes to Everly. The Second Knight instils the confidence Everly needs in order to master her abilities and face her fears with her new and rare magic.

Everly's desire to find her brother is still her foremost priority but after the almost coincidental attack in Amberhollow where they were sure to find a lead, the trail goes cold.

Despite Aldrin seeming like a great leader and lover to Everly, there seems to be more to him than meets the eye, as even Selene and Tarin show a level of secrecy surrounding Everly's capabilities and just how much Aldrin should know about them. His behaviour elicits some suspicions, are these suspicions steeped in truth or is it just baseless doubt?

The introduction of Ash and Tristan is refreshing as they are brutally honest and brusque characters that is almost refreshing. Everyone close to the King seems to use euphemism and metaphor to speak their opinion, so this level of candour is a real palate cleanser.

The cliff hanger ending of Vol 2 has really set the reader up for Vol 3 and the pacing of this volume seemed much more consistent. I'm hoping my questions will be answered soon as we all eagerly await Vol 3.
